Irene M. Dimitry retired in 2020 as VP of Renewable Energy at DTE Energy. During her more than 26 years at the company, Irene held increasing leadership assignments in areas such as marketing, business planning, customer service, electric operations, energy efficiency, integrated resource planning, and corporate strategy.

Irene led the renewable energy business for DTE’s electric utility from its creation in 2008 until she retired, growing it from a concept to a $75 million net income business. She had profit and loss responsibility for all aspects of this renewable business unit, including development, contracting, construction oversight, operations, regulatory, finance, and sales.

In retirement, Irene has started a new journey as a consultant focused on the energy industry and nonprofits. Irene is on the board of advisers for the E Source Utility Customer Research Consortium and is a steering committee member for the E Source Equity in a Clean Energy Economy Collaborative.
