To successfully transition to a clean energy economy, we must maintain affordability and access for at-risk customers in the utility sector. Energy equity issues touch every aspect of a utility’s organization, its operations, and the communities it serves. To help with this mission and keep the industry focused on the importance of energy equity, the E Source Equity in a Clean Energy Economy (ECEE) collaborative brings stakeholders together to create new approaches and tools that ensure equity in a clean energy economy for at-risk customers and communities.

In August 2024, E Source hosted the annual Equity in a Clean Energy Economy Executive Council Workshop, which gathered senior executives in the utility space for a day of roundtable discussions, presentations of research findings, and in-person networking. At the workshop, we interviewed chief customer officers of leading utilities and other senior executives from the collaborative on the importance of energy equity in the utility industry, how we can make real progress toward achieving it, and the role utilities, their partners, and E Source can play in getting there.
