The E Source Utility Marketing Survey is a pair of online surveys focusing on residential and business marketing. Each utility’s marketing department has different structures and resources, and their strategies vary with different degrees of success.

We’re offering a new version of this survey in 2024. We’ll ask questions about strategies, budgets, and metrics utility marketing teams use to plan and execute their campaigns. The results will help you determine your utility’s marketing maturity, compare your marketing maturity to peers across the industry, and improve the effectiveness of your marketing efforts to better reach residential and business customers.


What you’ll learn

In these surveys, we’ll get a better understanding of:

  • Planning. What utilities’ brands, goals, marketing strategies, and budgets are and how utilities use data to understand their customers.
  • Implementation. How utilities execute campaigns, what the tools and software utilities use to execute campaigns, how they segment audiences, and how they structure organizations.
  • Measurement. How utilities evaluate their success, what metrics they include, how they use these metrics, how they meet goals, and how they continuously improve plans.
