Rooftop solar is an appealing prospect for many residential customers who are looking to reduce their carbon footprint and their monthly energy bill. With the passage of the Inflation Reduction Act, the path to installing solar panels is even smoother due to the new money and tax credits it provides. But with the new money and opportunities comes bad actors who will game the system to their advantage.

During this webinar, we’ll discuss rooftop solar with a particular focus on door-to-door salespeople who target vulnerable customers like elderly or low-income customers and use misinformation to make a sale.

We’ll cover:

  • What the landscape of solar installation practices across the US looks like
  • Various codes of ethics and other pledges for solar
  • The Inflation Reduction Act and the money it provides for rooftop solar
  • The role utilities play in their communities
  • Further research on this issue
